Before I met Paula I was in a dark place, pre-diabetic, the heaviest I’d ever been and worryingly obese. I tried to reach out to the NHS for help, but they told me it was a 12 month waiting list for advice alone. Working 24/7 shifts, I was addicted to sugar, greasy takeaways and knew no way to break the cycle of emotional eating. Diets had tried and failed, I didn’t trust the diet industry anymore. It’s been quite some time since my body started to change, not only basically but mentally. I looked fuller, the clothes I used to wear didn’t even fit, I also took medication for an illness that I suffer from and it affected me a lot, like being half asleep for a long time, not wanting to do anything and I ate poorly, in the sense of eating very little. . I say influence because since I put myself in Paula’s hands I began to notice changes. Accepting and assimilating my illness helped me a lot, but being taught how to eat, at what times, a little exercise, and talking to her was a big change for me. I started to feel better, I no longer fall asleep mid-morning, and my clothes fit well now. Feeling full was a pain for me because it wasn’t really me. Today, thanks to the professionalism of Paula Rodríguez, I feel better again, not only with myself but with others. PR2 has given me a fantastic set of building blocks to build my weight loss and nutrition on. I have been on this journey for 3 months now and lost 14kg by diet alone. This advice isn’t the usual calorie deficit and hours in the gym that many advocate. In fact there is no calorie counting at all. It’s all about what food you put into your body and keeping the ingredients as natural as possible. The key to PR2’s advice is looking at the ingredients and nutritional values of things. There is also advice on which order to eat foods to avoid insulin spikes. On my journey so far I have definitely not had to starve myself. I have even eaten full fat alternatives at times as the macros are better. As long as you are willing to put some effort in then the results are there waiting for you. PR2’s passion for nutrition is immediately obvious when you speak with her and is demonstrated within her fiery personality. Give her methods a try, you won’t be disappointed.

I was fortunate to meet Paula Rodríguez at the end of 2021, when we were coming out of the worst of the pandemic. From the UK, she proposed a daily 15-minute routine with various exercises to work on all the areas I needed to get in shape. In a very professional and personal way, we worked on a different routine each day. It was a luxury to have her knowledge and dedicated attention. Unfortunately, when I returned to work, our schedules no longer aligned because I couldn’t commit. It’s a shame because I had never found someone who cared so thoroughly about both my body and mind. I have been overweight for most of my adult life. Food has always been a go to for me and it has not been a healthy relationship. I would eat huge portions and snack in between, I would crave high fat content foods and sugary snacks in between meal times. I would pick speed and convenience over healthy options. I would eat at the wrong times of the day and in recent years have had to give up my only form of activity due to an injury. This has led to a dramatic weight gain and the feelings that come with it, lack of energy and motivation and craving food during most waking hours. Having young children and a stressful full time job meant I was stuck in a routine of bad food choices and alcohol to alleviate the stress. This impacted my sleep leaving me feeling drained and tired most of the time. Paula started working with me in April 2024. At that time I weighed 152 kgs and I was the heaviest I have ever been. Paula took the time to explore the reasons behind my over eating and poor choices without any judgement. Paula quickly identified that the cravings were likely caused by excess sugar intake from eating sugary cereals and snacks. Paula explained that when the body spikes on sugar as the spike comes down you get the hunger cravings associated with this.

Paula gave me some easy, quick and most importantly healthy alternatives for breakfast. This was a huge change for me, the new healthy breakfasts left me full and satiated for the entire morning and the hunger cravings by lunch time were massively reduced. This was typically linked to stress and tiredness and I would turn to fast food for comfort. Paula took the time to teach me some coping methods in order to deal with these cravings and find an alternative to junk food. For example having a piece of fruit or a cup of tea to alleviate the hunger pangs and reduce the cravings for junk food.

Working with Paula has never felt like a “diet” as I have tried in the past. I can have the odd takeaway and drink of alcohol whereas in the past I never felt I could. By not being on a total lockdown I have stuck to the plan for far longer than I have done in the past as I always ended up feeling too restricted and giving up. It has been 7 months and I am 10kgs down from when I started. I have recently joined the gym and am getting more active. Since working with Paula I feel fitter, my clothes fit better and I am sleeping better. I no longer have the extreme hunger cravings I used to get and can make quick healthy choices for meals. I can occasionally have the odd treat which doesn’t leave me feeling like I am on a strict diet and has enabled me to stay motivated and on the correct path for far longer. Thank you for the help and support over the past few months Paula and for not being judgemental and I promise to continue on the weight loss journey you have set me on.
